Story
My name is Devlin Simmons. I am a tattoo artist from Cumberland , Maryland where I live with Sara.
I have been tattooing and drawing most of my life. I enjoy doing black & gray, new school, and anything that just kicks ass.
I started tattooing professionally in 1991. I opened my shop, Tiger Tattoo, in Keyser, West Virginia in 1995 and closed the shop in 1997. After closing my shop I started working at Temple Tattoo in Ridgeley, West Virginia.
In 1998 I left Temple Tattoo and went to work for Billy & Robbie Eason at Red Dragon Tattoo in Richmond, Virginia. While at Red Dragon, I became familiar with the different types and styles of tattooing. I guess I will never stop learning. I give most of the credit, for my knowledge of tattooing, to Red Dragon Tattoo and their artists.
In 1999 I left Red Dragon Tattoo and went back to Temple Tattoo. I did not stay there long. In July of 2000 Sara and I opened our own shop in Cresaptown, I have been tattooing for about 17 years but only 12 years professionally. I started out tattooing as a hobby, I owned my own construction company and made an honest living, but the work was hard and I could never make ends meet. While working construction I opening a Tattoo shop part time called Tiger Tattoo in WV I realized how much money I could make and quit construction altogether. And that's all it took I got paid to do what I love! I draw all day and make a good living doing it and I have a great time as well. Every day is awesome I meet new people, make new friends and get to put my artwork on the best canvas of all, the human skin. In 2004 I had some severe back problems and now that I've overcome them I'm back doing what I love. I'm back at Temple Tattoo for now working and waiting to open our shop again. For those of you who don't know, Personal Art Studio hated that we were located so close to them and hurting their business, So they bought the building we were in and kicked us out. Because we had no place to move into and because of my disability we had to stay closed. Until now. Sara (My wife) and I are in the process of getting our new shop open soon. This will be our best shop yet! Best looking, best location, the best of everything, at least we hope. we are keeping the location quiet so there are no problems with the so called competition, What a Joke! So to sum it up we are almost back in business, so watch for us and plan ahead for the perfect tattoo or piercing. Devlin
